"All Aboard" First Call

Believe it or not the television is a portal to the future. The programs are subtle in nature but to the point in its theatrical portrayals. In recent years black presidents have been introduced to the public in movies and television series. Two of the most popular presidents were Morgan Freeman and Dennis Haysbert. This was an attempt for the mass audience to become acclimated and acceptable to the ideal of a black president running the country. Currently the media portal is focusing on the 2012 event that will happen in about three years. Most people will remain num and in a state of denial, reminiscing on Y2K when nothing happened. This time around don’t bet your chickens that the same thing will happen again. Many people will die; about two thirds of the world’s population to be exact, but some people will survive. I personally decided that I wanted to live and anyone else that has the same desire can live as well. All of the continents north of the equator have about a zero percent chance of survival. There are safe places on the earth that your government will not tell you about to thwart any mass exodus to this unpublicized haven of hope. You’ll have to have a ship or a very large barge to be able to get there and survive, because there is very little land in this area. I will be leaving in August 2012. Go ahead and laugh; they laughed a Noah too. I been making plans for the past three years and is ready to start putting my plans into action. By the way. You may want to re think those coordinates because you can only be at one direction per angle. It's either S or N...or either E or W,,,,not SW, NE, SE, etc.

There are 4 hemispheres, NSEW, longitude and latitude lines are either east or west of the 0 deree paralell line that divides the earth down its center. Any line that's north of the equator and west of the center line is northwest.

okay...well the mapping devices I come across don't seem to accept coordinates of that nature for some reason so I was just wondering if there was a slight error somewhere.

I think Private Affair is right about this. There are actually only TWO hemispheres ("Hemi" means half), Northern and Southern. If you divide those further, they'd be quadrants. But that's just a minor correction, that's not the point here. Latitude lines are imaginary lines that divide the globe into points that are described as degrees/minutes/seconds North or degrees South. The imaginary lines of Longitude (meridians) likewise divide the globe into points East or West. Any point on the globe can be plotted using a N/S latitude point and an E/W longitude point. So the city or place would be described as X degrees North latitude and X degrees East longitude. They wouldn't be SW or NE or anything like that. For instance, Dallas is at latitude 32° 47' 0" N / 96° 48' 0" W longitude.

So, Roy, if you'll give us the city, island or nearest safe place with a name, OR the correct latitude/longitude, we can plot it out and save ourselves. Great info, and thanks for sharing.
