While reading this particluar article, I started reminiscing about the MJ in his prime. I wanted to share it with you all but it was too long to paste. So here's the link:
I was filled with both sadness and joy while reading it because as sad as we all were at finding out he had passed...I was somewhat joyful because he apparently was in top form while preparing for this show. So that tells me that he passed away doing something he really loved doing...making the world smile with his unique one-of-a-king gift! So I hope some of you other fans (whether you admit or not) will take something good out of all of this . I know I did. I know it's cliched to say this but it's immensely appropriate to do so right now: There will truly NEVER be another like him.
RIP Michael Joseph Jackson. Thank you for the fond memories over the years and the smiles that your songs and performances gave us all. You can rest now because your journey has concluded. Those who gleefully vilified you for your humanity while you were alive (and sadly while in death) are now seeing the incredible outpouring of love and adoration that the world has for you.
From the start you appealed to us with A Child’s Heart
ever since then you captured our imaginations
you and The Jackson Five were a great presentation
but then you broke away and went Off The Wall
showing that even alone you could stand tall
and proving it again in a very special way
with the Thriller moonwalk on Motown’s 25th anniversary
Outside music you were a humanitarian
a sincere man, loving and caring
an example of what it means to be a human being
and this was just the beginning
because you touched people far and wide
and did it with such fierce determination and pride
this is what it meant to you to be truly alive
if there’s anything else I could feature
I would say you told us it was only Human Nature
We know you’re Bad, Dangerous and Invincible
the legacy you leave behind is beyond phenomenal
and it didn’t take your passing for me to pay tribute
I just played your records last week as proof
and though you’re gone you’re not forgotten
you’ll ever be the reigning King of Pop…we love you Michael Jackson
