- Crooner, I am really at wits end. This all has to do with a good friend of mine and his wife. My friend and I have been cool since college, which is where he met his wife. Well, after several years of college and a few children she has added some pounds. Dude is livid! I went over there the other day and asked where ______ was, "There that fat wench sits in the den devouring that whole tub of ice cream, he said!" I really hate to hear him speak in such deraugatory terms of a woman who has been nothing but kind to me since I have known her.
I told him to look at her good qualities: she keeps an impeccable home, works and keeps her appearances up, despite the obvious weight gain. He says that none of this really matters and he walks through the house making whale sounds trying to shame her into submission. I am really contemplating not going back over to visit if he keeps it up. His own mother told him "Son, don't you mess around and lose the best woman you ever had. She will always be my daughter-in-law and no other woman that you get with is wecome at my house!" Truth be told, I really don't think he is looking for one to take home to mother,. He has a newfound interest in the ones that (dance) for a living. I don't think it helps that he sells automobiles for a living and is constantly coming in contact with women who are trying to make a deal. This is really wearing on me. I don't know if this is just his midlife crisis or what.
